Baidoa, Somalia | 6 August 2025
KACDO participated in the Country Humanitarian Forum (CHF 2025), organized by the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) at Ruun Jinaad Hotel, Villa KGS, Baidoa, in South West State of Somalia.
Held under the theme “Driving Localized, Inclusive, and Resilient Humanitarian Action Amid Rising Needs in Somalia,” the forum brought together government representatives, United Nations agencies, international and local NGOs, civil society organizations, and other humanitarian partners.
The gathering focused on strengthening Somali-led humanitarian action, improving coordination, and addressing funding challenges amid growing humanitarian needs.
Strengthening Local Leadership and Coordination
Discussions highlighted the importance of placing Somali institutions and local organizations at the centre of humanitarian planning and response. Participants explored ways to improve cooperation, mobilize domestic resources, and support more inclusive assistance for communities affected by drought, displacement, and other crises.
The agenda also addressed safeguarding humanitarian aid and strengthening accountability across the humanitarian system.

KACDO’s Participation
KACDO was represented at the forum by Ayaanle Idiris Mahdi, as part of the organization’s continued engagement with humanitarian stakeholders in Somalia.
